Speaking of ceramic, I believe that most people are not unfamiliar. Of course, owing to these ceramic culture, Chinese culture has a long history!
Tracing back to the development history of ceramic, it started in B.C. 4500 to 2500, and it is an important part of Chinese history culture. Of course, we can also see the pursuit of beauty for science and technology from the ceramic culture at that time, and in many ways reflected by ceramics. What’s more, during the unceasing development at that time, ceramic achieved rather high fabrication technology of ceramic.
The fabrication technology of ceramic which appeared one thousand years earlier than that of western countries, is quite mature before the rising of ceramic technologies in western countries. However, as the fabrication steps of ceramic is tedious and complicated along with relatively backwards technology, many ceramics are completed by hands. Through the pattern figure on man-made ceramics is not as delicate as that of nowadays, it was quite in place for the technology situation of that times. Therefore, we can guess that science and technology development went far ahead of foreign countries at that time.
Among them, Tang dynasty is a boundary ridge of the ceramics’ fast and rapid development, which is known as a great period of ceramic development. It showed its high adept proficiency not only on ceramic fabrication but also on control of every technology. It was at this time that the ceramic technology came to mature. When it comes to the period of Song dynasty, the ceramic can be produced in large quantities, when it conducted foreign sales.
The ceramic technology has been very adept and skilled in the ancient times of China. We can have a glimpse of it only through the ceramics from Tang and Song dynasty. We can say that it has made a considerable contribution to the development of Chinese ancient culture!
