What was the challenge in designing the Phantom?
The great challenge and of course a tremendous honour of designing a Rolls Royce had its roots in immersing ourselves into the entire history of the marque and to achieve the true authenticity behind it. Of course we had a vast history from which to draw inspiration and I would point particularly to the Phantom 2s of nineteen thirties which provided perhaps the most significant amount of inspiration
when it came to the designing of the Phantom, mostly because those were the cars that truly described the halcyon days of the mark that made it famous for decades to come. Some of the powerful presence the statesmanship and the formality of those cars were truly inspirational.

How important is China to Rolls-Royce?
China’s a very important part of our Asia Pacific strategy and our business in China is meeting our expectations. We’ve opened up three dealerships in the mainland and we are very happy with our performance so far.
